Bendi — last updated August 28, 2026

Bendi (“the App”) is developed and published by Chris Gregori (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you use the App.

The short version

There is no account, sign-up, or login. Everything personal you enter — your name, your goals, the areas you say are tight, your check-ins, and your stretch history — is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us. We do collect anonymous usage analytics and process subscription purchases, both through the third parties described below. Neither receives your name or anything that identifies you personally.

Data that stays on your device

The following never leaves your device:

  • The name you give Bendi to call you
  • The goals and body areas you pick during setup, and your daily time budget
  • Your daily check-ins (good, stiff, tired, sore) and post-routine feedback
  • Your streak, session history, and minutes stretched

This data lives in the App's own on-device storage, shared with its Home Screen widgets so they can display your streak and today's recommendation. It is included in any personal iCloud device backup you configure yourself through iOS. We never receive a copy of it.

Anonymous analytics

The App uses Aptabase, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics service, to understand how the App is used in aggregate — for example, how many people finish setup, which routines get started, and where people run into trouble. Aptabase is EU-hosted and does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or any persistent identifier that follows you between sessions.

The events we record include: app launches, setup completion, daily check-ins, routines started and completed, post-routine feedback, language changes, Health sync being toggled, paywall views, and purchase or restore events. These carry only coarse properties such as a routine's name, a session length in seconds, a mood value, or the number of goals and areas you selected.

We do not send your name, the specific goals or body areas you chose, your notes, or any other free-text you enter. Aptabase separately records standard technical context with each event, such as your device model, OS version, app version, locale, and country. It does not store IP addresses.

Subscriptions

Bendi+ subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system and managed using RevenueCat, which tells the App whether your subscription is active. The App does not identify you to RevenueCat: it uses an anonymous, randomly-generated identifier, and we never link it to your name or an email address.

We never see or receive your payment details. Payment is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Restoring purchases asks Apple and RevenueCat about purchases tied to your Apple Account; it does not disclose anything else about you to us.

Apple Health

If — and only if — you turn on Health logging in Settings and grant permission, the App writes each completed routine to Apple Health as a flexibility workout. This is write-only: the App requests no read permissions and never reads any health data from your device. Health data is stored by Apple on your device under your control, is not sent to us, and is not shared with Aptabase or RevenueCat. You can revoke the permission at any time in the iOS Health app, and turning the setting off stops any further writes.

Data we never collect

  • Your email address, phone number, or contacts
  • Location data
  • Advertising identifiers, and any data used for tracking
  • Photos, microphone, or camera access
  • Any health data read from your device

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising. The App contains no advertising SDKs.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. As described above, the App does not collect personally identifying information from anyone.

Your rights

Because the personal data you enter stays on your device, you can erase all of it at any time by deleting the App, which removes its local storage along with it. The anonymous analytics we receive cannot be traced back to an individual, so we are not able to identify, retrieve, or delete a specific person's events on request. If you have a question about your data, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Medical disclaimer

Bendi is a wellness and stretching companion. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care from a doctor or physical therapist. Stretching carries inherent physical risk. Move within a comfortable range, stop if something hurts, and consult a qualified healthcare professional with any questions regarding a medical condition or before beginning any new physical activity. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of anything shown or suggested by the App.

Disclaimer of warranties; limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data logged will be preserved or accurately reflected.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all liability, and you agree that we shall not be liable, for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, injury, health outcomes, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. You use the App entirely at your own risk and discretion, and you are solely responsible for any decisions made on the basis of information shown in the App.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
